Design Process for furniture.

Design Process
:Designing Furniture

A few weeks ago room 22 have been identifying problems around the street. One of the main problems we are working on now is the furniture in our street. The reason why we choose furniture is because we would really like a little place where we can relaxe and do our work in a quite place near our class.

Everyone in my class have been researching ideas for different kind of furniture such as couch’s(to sit on), hangers(for bags), Tables (to put our net books on while we are working) and shelves(to put our shoes on).

We will be visualizing and modifying where and when we will be creating the perfect place for our class. But first we will need to research different idea’s and then create prototype’s of what we will be making. You can be in a group of 2(max) or either work by your self.

We have 3 weeks to complete out task. On the first week we will be needing to be finishing finding different ideas. For the second week we will be needing to measure the approximate measurements for the length and width for our prototype of out design. And on the final week we would have finish our prototype.

Once we finish our prototype we need to evaluate and reflect on our design. We might need to modify and adjust the length and hight or we might need to change the shape and be creative. For an example i changed my table holder because if i made a straight holder it wouldn't of held the base of my table.

Rugby League Session.

Yesturday our class went out for a cool session of league. The time was 10:00am and we all had to get dressed to go out and have some fun. So we lined up and walked to the junior court.
Sio Siua Taukeiaho(Our coach) put us in four even groups.
Once we were put in to those groups we all had to line up in a straight line and sit behind a cone. Once we were all seated we had a relay to see what team can come first. “Ready set go” Siua shouted out. The first person in our group ran around the cones then sprinted back. “No” Shouted our team we had lose Team 4 came first.”Ohhh” Shouted everyone as siua said that the race was only a practise. An adrenaline rush pumped throw my vanes to come first in the relay. We had two more games to play the second game we played was the same as the first relay we done but it was different. Our team mates were the cones so we had to run around each person then sprint back to the finish line.

Science Roadshow

Science Roadshow...

On Thursday the 9th we attended the science roadshow at Tamaki college. Once we entered the hall there were two scientists waiting to assist us through the process of exhibits. They showed us about our senses such as our touch, taste, smell, sound and our eyes.

After learning about our senses we all got to roam and test out the amazing inventions that we're set out around the hall. There were different kind of topics that explained each invention such as detection(radiation), heat(colour, fire), communication(phones), levers, gears, inclined planes(piano, metal detector), sound(bird songs), quirky curiosities(skeleton).

So heres a picture of one of the things i liked.

Swimming Lesson's

Every Day for two weeks at approximately 1:15p.m. Team 5 have been learning how to swim at our local pools Glenn Innes.
We learned this in case there is an emergency that involves us at sea. We have been taking lessons of what to do at sea in case something bad happens such as drowning from walling off a boat. We mostly learnt freestyle.

Ms Tito gave us a challenge. The challenge was that we have to swim back and forth for 600meters with out touching the ground it was a difficult task but most of the students succeeded.

I really like swimming because its fun and active for every age. Next year I am hoping to attend swimming again.

Here is were we swim.

Taonga Time.....

Every Friday the Year seven and eight classes have a special Friday called Taonga time. In each class the teacher has a different passion that they share with others. For example my teacher (Ms Tito) is very passionate about Kapa Haka.

The Taonga group I’m in is Science with Mr Harris in Room 19. We learnt how to make different coloured goo with corn flour and water. I think that the Science class is pretty interesting because we learn different things.

There are also different groups such as Maori, Kapa Haka, Science, ICT, Sport, Music and Team Building. Each class we go in ,we learn about cool and fascinating things.

Heres a picture of what we used in our first experiment
